In Watermael-Boitsfort, the two green parties Ecolo (French-speaking) and Groen (Dutch-speaking) have been working together for over 25 years. They are once again presenting a list for the municipal elections on 13 October 2024: the Ecolo-Groen list.

The political project presented by the Greens is based on protecting the environment, strengthening solidarity along with rigorous, transparent public management.

The mayor candidate is Tristan Roberti, a lawyer specialising in environmental law and former regional MP. Second on the list is Aurélie Sapa, a doctoral student in sustainable management and group leader of the Local Council. Olivier Deleuze, the current mayor, is 29th on the list. Olivier de Schutter, UN Special Rapporteur, is in 27th place.

In recent years, the population of our municipality has become much more diverse. Our municipality is home to a large expatriate community, in particular due to the presence of the headquarters of several international organisations in Brussels. This diversity is an asset!

Ecolo-Groen has encouraged non-Belgians to register to vote. Ecolo-Groen has also ensured that its list of candidates is representative of the diversity of the population of our municipality. For example, our list includes candidates born in France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands… who now live in Watermael-Boitsfort and want to get involved in local life!

It was also important for us to offer our programme in three languages (French, Dutch and English) to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
